*Compensation*$55,820.00 Annual*Job Description Summary*The application deadline for this position is 11:59pm EST on September 19, 2025. The Institute of Public Safety (IPS) offers Santa Fe College’s (SF) Emergency Medical Services and Criminal Justice Technology degree programs, as well as vocational certificate programs in the areas of law enforcement, corrections, emergency medical technician, and paramedic. IPS also presents advanced and specialized law enforcement and corrections training programs and hosts in-service training for public safety agencies. The Associate Director for Law Enforcement and Corrections Programs at IPS is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and assessment of training programs at SF. This position will complete the recruitment and orientation of personnel; coordinate curriculum and planning, student application processing, budget and equipment management; maintain standards for training programs in accordance with Florida Criminal Justice Standards & Training Commission (CJSTC) requirements; and collaborate extensively with partner agencies. Additionally, the Associate Director provides general administrative and technical guidance to the IPS Director, staff, and colleagues and works to improve IPS and college processes and productivity. The IPS Director can permit the Associate Director to serve as an adjunct faculty member for additional compensation by providing instruction to students in the Law Enforcement and Corrections programs.*Job Description*Responsibilities and Duties Include: * Leads IPS faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to ensure that programs and operations are managed properly and IPS achieves its mission. * Demonstrates vision and innovation to ensure that programs and operations serve as examples for other organizations to follow. * Promotes a professional, supportive, innovative, and safe environment for all students, faculty, and staff to ensure that all decisions and other actions by IPS personnel are in the best interests of the College. * Manages the design, development, scheduling, and implementation of applicable IPS programs in compliance with state standards and national best-practices. * Assesses the quality of IPS programs, recognizing strengths and identifying areas for improvement, and implements changes as needed. * Ensures that IPS programs are responsive to workforce development needs of the public safety agencies within the College’s district. * Manages the operations of the Criminal Justice Selection Center including planning, budgeting account management, and personnel management, and processes relating to applicant recruitment, testing, screening, and selection. * Works closely with the IPS Director and organizations such the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and partner organizations to maintain accreditation of IPS programs and facilities. * May represent the IPS as Training Center Director in accordance with standards set by FDLE and the CJSTC. * May serve as an adjunct faculty member to provide direction instruction to students and receives overload compensation for this work. * Collaborates extensively with advisory committees, partner organizations, and other stakeholders. * Develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with the agencies to ensure that IPS activities serve the needs of the community. * Provides good stewardship of SF funds, grant funds, and other funding sources to ensure that training and education resources are dispersed in a prudent manner. * Completes various duties related to IPS daily operations and functions, including recruiting and selecting IPS personnel, resolving student and staff issues and concerns with delegated authority, collaborating with colleagues on evaluating faculty and staff performance, and briefing staff and stakeholders. * Collects data and prepares, maintains, and transmits various reports and records. * Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality. * Strictly honors the privacy, security, and confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal, and college regulations, policies, and procedures. * Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement. * Performs these and other duties as assigned in a professional and timely manner. Reports to: Director, Institute of Public Safety *QUALIFICATIONS* *Required:* A bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of related work experience in the criminal justice field or a combination of education and/or experience equal to six (6) years. Prior supervisory experience. *Preferred: *Holds the credentials necessary to teach in at least one (1) of the disciplines within Law Enforcement and Corrections programs ([Credentialing Manual](https://www.sfcollege.edu/academic-affairs/faculty-credentialing/requirements.html)). A master’s degree with program management experience in a criminal justice setting. Prior supervisory experience in a criminal justice, academic and/or governmental agency. Working knowledge of compliance and accreditation standards in higher education, training certifications, and grant applications. Active Florida CJSTC General Instructor Techniques certification or equivalent. *Additional Requirements: *A criminal background check will be conducted.
