Position Title: Maintenance Technician I
location: Greenfield, MA
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Repairs and maintains production machinery and equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Performs preventative maintenance duties as prescribed by the CMMS such as greasing plant equipment, changing oil, cleaning filters, as well as general equipment maintenance.
Understanding / using CMMS to catalogue work completed.
Communicates with shift leaders and production employees to understand daily needs.
Interprets a production set up to accurately perform a tooling.
Understands all Maintenance checklists and can fill them out in their entirety.
Cleans / organizes / maintains parts inventory and accuracy within the CMMS.
Assists shift personnel with tooling functions.
Repairs / replaces defective parts.
Makes entries into PDE.
qualifications:
Required Education & Skillsets:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent work experience
Current driver's license in good standing
Ability to be adaptable and change work direction on short notice to accommodate business needs.
Knowledge on use and functionality of basic shop tools, grinders, Mag drill, Hammer drill, Micrometer
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graph
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to effectively communicate through use of email and verbal communication.
Ability to operate drills, grinders, and other maintenance shop tools.
Possess some welding skills or willingness to learn.
Willingness and ability to travel, if necessary, between plants or to obtain parts.
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
Physical Demands:
Be able to lift a and or move up to 50 pounds
Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds
Be able to work 12 hours shifts
Perform repetitive tasks
Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk
Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces
Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
