Location *(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities)* Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. Department Information *DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Assists Dean of Students with postvention strategies and protocols in coordinating responses to student deaths and offering guidance and support to affected students, families, and staff. * Routinely manages cases focused on students¿ crises, including critical illness, mental health emergencies, and fatalities. * Serves as the Dean of Students Office's primary point of contact for emergent calls and walk-ins regarding students in distress. * Collaborates with KSU's Behavioral Response Team in designing individual action plans for distressed students * Collects all pertinent information for a student requesting a medical leave of absence and emergency leave of absence * Assists with support services for students leaving and returning from a withdrawal due to extenuating circumstances. * Assists with the necessary documentation for university academic appeals submissions, as appropriate *DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:* * Comprehensive understanding of 24/7 crisis intervention services and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies at any time. * Proficiency in suicide and homicide assessment protocols, including risk evaluation, intervention strategies, and appropriate referral processes. * Experience in developing and implementing crisis management plans tailored to individual student needs. * Strong knowledge of mental health resources and support systems available within and outside the university. * Ability to collaborate with mental health professionals, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to ensure student safety and well-being. Job Summary Coordinates preventative and remedial clinical case management services to support students and improve functioning and well-being. Advocates in campus and community systems to reduce barriers that impede student success. Responsible for providing clinical services for a wide variety of presenting problems, including eating disorders, autism spectrum disorder, complex mental health, trauma, and/or crisis. Facilitates higher level of care referrals and transition back to campus, as needed. Manages treatment needs, makes treatment recommendations, coordinates care, and maintains knowledge of on and off-campus resources. Responsibilities *KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*:* 1. Provides case planning and coordination of care across multiple disciplines 2. Provides direct services to KSU students 3. Processes incoming and outgoing medical records requests 4. Facilitates off-campus referrals 5. Partners with community providers to develop the off-campus referral database 6. Provides crisis intervention and after-hours emergency on-call coverage when scheduled or needed 7. Provides outreach and consultation to the campus community 8. Facilitates hospitalizations and returns to campus 9. Supervises graduate student trainees Required Qualifications *Educational Requirements* Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in counseling, psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy *Other Required Qualifications* Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license *Required Experience* Three (3) years, including internships, providing case management services, working in a community mental health context, and/or a crisis response setting Preferred Qualifications *Additional Preferred Qualifications* Independent licensure (e.g. LPC, LCSW, or LMFT) *Preferred Educational Qualifications* PhD degree in social work, Student Affairs Administration, Student Personnel, Counseling, Higher Education, or related field *Preferred Experience* Experience with electronic health record systems Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities *ABILITIES* Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one-time meeting assigned deadlines Ability to work collaboratively with mental health professionals, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to ensure student safety and wellbeing. *KNOWLEDGE* Knowledge of mental health issues in higher education Familiar with local treatment options and providers Knowledge of professional, national, and state ethical guidelines Proficiency in suicide and homicide assessment protocols, including risk evaluation, intervention strategies, and appropriate referral processes. Strong knowledge and experience developing and implementing crisis management plans tailored to individual student needs.
