We foster programs in the areas of basic, translational, mechanistic and population research. *Position Summary:*The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at UNC s School of Medicine is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE), fixed-term position at the Clinical Instructor level at the UNC Children’s Primary Care Clinic in Chapel Hill, NC. This position will provide a combination of direct clinical therapy and case management services for children, adolescents, and their families, integrating care with pediatric providers in a multidisciplinary, resident-teaching clinic. Role responsibilities include: Clinical Therapy Services * Provide 8 half-day therapy sessions per week for patients ages 6 21 (option to see younger children if within selected candidate s expertise). There is flexibility in scheduling, including potential early evenings or Saturday mornings. * Conduct sessions primarily in person; partial telehealth option available after establishing a patient panel (maintaining >50% in person). * Address mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief, suicidal ideation, and adjustment disorders. * Offer short- or long-term therapy at the professional’s discretion. * Maintain availability during non-therapy times for warm handoffs from pediatricians for case management or subsequent therapy services. * Collaborate with pediatricians and clinical staff for ongoing patient co-management. * Utilize interpreter services (Voyce video tablets) for patients with diverse language needs. * Document and bill appropriately for therapy services provided. Case Management & Care Coordination * Dedicate 2 half-days weekly to case management and administrative work, with additional case management integrated into clinical time as needed. * Connect families to resources addressing social determinants of health. * Conduct follow-up with high-risk families to ensure ongoing connection to services. * Oversee and collaborate with student volunteers assisting in case management. * Build and maintain relationships with community service providers for external referral needs. Collaboration & Teaching Environment * Engage collaboratively with pediatric residents and other learners in a teaching clinic. * Support a dynamic care team including physicians, nurses, and social workers. * Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and care planning. *Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:*The candidate must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work and possess, or be eligible for, licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of North Carolina. The candidate must have skills in interpersonal communication and assessment and be capable of independent judgment and action regarding psychosocial needs of this patient population. The candidate must have direct experience working with children providing mental health services and adhere to the National Association of Social Workers’ Code of Ethics. *Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:*Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary setting and proof of effective verbal and written communication skills related to treatment planning. Prior experience with Epic Electronic Health Record. Prior experience working with diverse and underprivileged populations.
