Job Summary The Director of Admissions leads and directs the undergraduate admissions efforts. This position combines strategic planning, leadership, and communication skills to attract a qualified student body that aligns with the institution's academic goals and mission. The Director implements University policies and guidelines for Admissions and is responsible for the management of Admissions application processing and communications. The Director will oversee recruitment activities that incorporate best practices and data-driven analysis for undergraduate lead generation (search and purchased names), inquiry cultivation, application management, pre/post admission communications, and overall enrollment practices. Working in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders, the Director works to develop proactive and nimble strategies to adjust to changing environments and trends in recruitment and admission of four-year and two-year candidates that align with the strategic growth plan of the University. The Director leads and mentors the admissions team while focusing on admission counseling, regional recruitment, special populations, the campus visit and event experience as well as oversight for a team of engaged student ambassadors. The Director works closely with the Registrar and the Directors of Financial Aid and Marketing. This proactive, results-oriented individual will play a vital role in the collaboration, across colleges, with the five academic Deans, the Associate Deans, as well as with other faculty, administrators, staff, coaches, and students to carry out the mission of the institution. Responsibilities * Incorporate University System of Georgia (USG) initiatives in the recruitment process, ensuring a system is established to track and monitor students. * Strategic Enrollment Management: Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment plans to achieve enrollment targets for various student populations (first-year, transfer, dual enrollment, international, etc.). This includes market research, data analysis, and the implementation of effective recruitment and communication strategies using tools like CRM systems. * Admissions Process Oversight: Lead and manage the entire undergraduate admissions process, from initial inquiry to enrollment, ensuring a smooth and personalized experience for prospective students and their families. This involves setting application criteria, evaluating applications, making admissions decisions, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. * Team Leadership and Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor a team of admissions professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment focused on student success and achieving enrollment goals. * Marketing and Outreach: Collaborate with university marketing and communications teams to develop and implement effective marketing campaigns and materials that promote the institution's unique culture, academic programs, and student life to prospective students and other stakeholders. * Campus Collaboration and Engagement: Serve as a key liaison between the admissions office and other campus departments (e.g., financial aid, advising, student affairs) to ensure a cohesive approach to student recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts. * Budget Management: Develop, manage, and monitor the admissions budget, ensuring efficient and compliant use of resources to support recruitment initiatives. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as education or marketing * Demonstrated experience in higher education admissions, with a proven track record of successfully meeting enrollment goals and leading admissions teams. * Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and develop staff. * Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with all populations, including students, parents, high school counselors, and faculty. * Experience with complex data analysis with the ability to interpret trends to inform recruitment strategies and decision-making. * Expertise in utilizing admissions software, CRM systems (such as Technolutions Slate CRM, preferred by Savannah State University), and other relevant technologies to streamline processes and manage data. * Experience developing and implementing strategic plans that align with institutional goals that respond to evolving trends in higher education. * Familiarity with federal and state regulations, as well as accreditation standards, related to admissions and recruitment in higher education Proposed Salary The salary range for this position is $88,000.00 to $93,500.00.
