Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Night Shift Superintendent with 5+ years of superintendent-level experience to oversee multiple field crews and subcontractors on active construction projects. This role requires flexibility to work night shifts as needed and direct experience managing traffic control operations in addition to supervising active work zones and lane closure activities.

Successful candidates demonstrate strong leadership ability, proactive problem-solving skills, effective communication, high accountability, and an unwavering commitment to jobsite safety and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage night shift construction operations on assigned projects

  • Lead, assign, and direct multiple field crews and subcontractors

  • Ensure all work activities meet or exceed safety standards

  • Provide field supervisors with necessary tools, materials, equipment, and project documentation

  • Monitor subcontractor performance while managing schedule and budget expectations

  • Interpret project plans and specifications related to assigned scopes of work

  • Track productivity and cost performance for assigned work activities

  • Implement QA/QC processes to maintain high construction quality standards

  • Oversee all construction-related site operations during night shift hours

  • Proactively identify and respond to changing site conditions and unforeseen challenges

  • Manage project documentation including submittals, material tracking, and document control

  • Prepare and submit weekly safety reports

  • Plan and manage manpower requirements for assigned projects

  • Support traffic control coordination and work zone management


Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction with demonstrated superintendent-level leadership responsibility

  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments

  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices, OSHA regulations, equipment operation, and QA/QC processes

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Valid driver's license

  • Strong team leadership and field operations management skills

  • Ability to support local and regional project assignments (within a reasonable driving radius)


Certifications & Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Certification (required)

  • Traffic Control Coordinator (TCC) certification or prior equivalent experience managing traffic control operations

Pay Details: $115,000.00 to $135,000.00 per year
