Job Purpose The General Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our freight brokerage business. This individual will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team, driving revenue growth, and ensuring operational excellence. Additionally, the General Manager will have the opportunity to leverage their entrepreneurial skills to identify new business opportunities and expand our market presence. Crucially, this role will also involve maintaining their own Profit & Loss (P&L) statement, providing a unique opportunity to directly impact the financial success of the company. Your day-to-day Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of leaders and individual contributors to achieve individual and office wide targets. Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture that emphasizes accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional development of team members. Business Development: Develop and nurture relationships with key clients, carriers, and industry stakeholders to enhance our market presence. Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify areas for growth and innovation. Aid in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand our client base and drive revenue growth. Operational Excellence: Oversee the operational aspects of the freight brokerage business, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Implement best practices and process improvements to optimize operational workflows and enhance customer satisfaction. Resolve escalated issues and proactively address any challenges that may arise to ensure smooth and seamless operations. Financial Management: Manage and maintain your own Profit & Loss (P&L) statement, taking ownership of financial performance and profitability of your office location. Analyze financial data, identify trends, and develop strategies to maximize revenue, minimize costs, and improve overall profitability. Work closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting, budget adherence, and financial transparency. May perform other duties as assigned! Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred. 3-5 years’ experience preferred with a proven track record of success in a leadership role within the freight brokerage or logistics industry. Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving business growth and innovation. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence others. Solid understanding of logistics operations, transportation regulations, and industry trends. Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and P&L management. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
