*Department*Cyberinfrastructure*Compensation*$65,000.00 to Negotiable Annual* General Description* The Information Security Analyst II, under the direction of a Manager or above, performs advanced analysis of information security systems, application logs, and network events to identify and mitigate risks. This role contributes to the design, development, and implementation of security processes, tools, and programs. Assignments are moderately complex, requiring independent judgment and problem-solving within established guidelines. The Analyst II also provides guidance to junior staff and recommends policies and procedures to strengthen the organization’s security posture. *Job Function * * Performs advanced tasks to ensure the security of the organization’s systems and information assets. * Works on projects of moderate complexity, often serving as a subject matter resource. * Partners with departments to assess security needs and recommend solutions. * Investigates and responds to security alerts, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. * Provides tiered technical support for security-related issues, including escalations from junior analysts. * Reviews and enforces compliance with security policies, recommending updates as needed. * Assists in developing and maintaining incident response plans and participates in security audits. * Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of security initiatives. * During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off-campus location or place of residence. * This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed. *Marginal Functions* Attends meetings, utilizes staff resources when situations require additional expertise, serves on committees, task forces and work groups. *Supervision Received* Works under general supervision; expected to exercise independent judgment within established policies. *Program Direction and Development* Advises management on emerging security trends and recommends enhancements to security programs. *Policy-making and/or Interpretation* Formulates and recommends to management policies and procedures required to provide efficient and effective information security support to the University stakeholders. *Level of Public Contact* Significant Contact. Person in position meets frequently with various University personnel and serves on institutional groups and committees as required. Position also meets with outside vendors. *Monetary Responsibility* Indirect: Position is responsible for providing customers and management with accurate information on the purchase of hardware, software and peripherals. *Statement of Responsibility for Confidential Data * The person in this position is responsible for ensuring that all University information systems and associated network infrastructure comply with federal, state, and University statutes, guidelines, and policies on confidentiality of information.
