This is a restricted position. *Chief Objective of Position:*To provide administrative and planning assistance to the Co-Directors of CNU’s Center for American Studies. *This is an internal posting open to current employees of Christopher Newport University. This is a one year, restricted position with the possibility of extension depending on funding.* *Work Tasks:*Performs a wide variety of administrative and research support duties for the Center for American Studies within specific guidelines using established policies and procedures. These responsibilities include: assisting with the planning and coordinating of Center speakers, workshops and conferences, and other events; assisting with researching and writing of grant and funding proposals; helping Center faculty on with research and writing projects; and maintaining the Center’s website. Other duties as assigned.* * This position is designated as a “responsible employee” who has the authority to redress sexual violence, who has the duty to report incidents of sexual violence or other student misconduct, or who a student could reasonably believe has this authority or duty.
