Responsibilities and Duties Oversees daily transportation field operations for on and off campus shuttle operation, charters, safe ride, and Para-transit services to ensure routes run in efficient manner and meet the needs of the campus community. Troubleshoots and resolves service issues during the shift to include re-routing delayed buses, ensuring appropriate notifications are posted, and responding to maintenance issues and accidents. Drive routes as required, assists supervisors and managers with oversight of staff to ensure expectations are met and issues are addressed in accordance with established policies and procedures.Assists with reviewing section documents to ensure accurate completion.Oversees and assists with minor maintenance tasks to include preventative maintenance, cleaning, minor repairs, etc.Other administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or equivalent3 years of experience in operation of medium or heavy duty commercial passenger vehicles requiring a CDL license and a preferred 6 (six) months in a lead or supervisory capacity. The successful candidate should have experience in transit transportation field; be able to oversee shuttle programs including monitoring performance; be detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced and changing work environment; possess excellent written and oral communications and customer service skills; and be able to work in field in all weather conditions for long periods of time.Valid Federal Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with passenger endorsement, no air brake restrictions and no more than 5 points is required. Employees will be subjected to drug and alcohol education and testing as required under Federal Highway Administration and the State of Maryland regulations.
