University Drive, McKinney, Texas, 75071We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.*Job Summary:*Advise and assist veteran students through the process of applying for benefits and ensuring they follow the correct processes and procedures so they can be certified to receive their educational benefits. Assist with the Veterans Work Study program and with other resources for veteran students, such as financial aid, scholarships and exemptions.*Required Qualifications:Essential Duties and Responsibilities* * Serve veteran students utilizing the Banner system which includes tracking and processing paperwork of students using veterans educational benefits, certifying hours in Enrollment manager, and adjusting certifications based on schedule changes. * Advise students with regards to their degree plan and how to follow it to maximize their veterans educational benefit use. Recommend and refer students who are struggling academically to appropriate support resources. * Maintain confidentiality and follow the professional code of ethics for Veteran Certifying Officials. * Answer questions and troubleshoot issues for students using veterans educational benefits, as well as students using financial aid and/or State of Texas exemptions. * May conduct orientation sessions, sessions for academic advisors or other student support services and/or outside agencies on the topic of veterans educational benefits. * May check and answer emails from various sources. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required. *Requirements* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience required. Student development type experience; preferably in the Veterans' Affairs/Veterans Services Office.
