Mavis is seeking a Full Stack Engineer with intimate familiarity with the web platform to join our team. Our Full Stack Engineers are engaged in the full spectrum of product development, working with a team to write great software and build engaging products. Specifically, we are looking for an engineer with SEO experience. Do you have the technical and relational skills to build business-critical applications with a high-performing, cross-functional team? Our web stack today includes React, Node.js, SQL, TypeScript, .NET, and we have Go in production as well. Qualifications: Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, React, SQL and Node.js skills are necessary for this position. Have 3 years of experience working with a variety of additional front and backend technologies, preferably React, Java, and / or .NET. Familiarity with SEO tactics and understanding of how search engines crawl, render, and index JavaScript-heavy websites (including SSR, CSR, and SSG approaches). Experience with Next.js is a plus. Experience working with large-scale websites and multi-tenant architectures, with an understanding of the SEO and performance considerations at scale. Proven ability to implement mobile-first, responsive design and improve site performance using web performance optimization best practices. Have experience with SEO-critical code elements, like canonical tags, structured data (JSON-LD), sitemap generation, noindex logic, hreflang, and robots directives. Experience optimizing website architecture, internal linking, and URL structures to enhance search engine discoverability. Hands-on experience managing 301 redirects and executing site migrations while preserving SEO equity. Have experience debugging SEO issues with DevTools, Search Console, and other crawling tools (ScreamingFrog, etc.) and proficiency in writing custom scripts or using API integrations to automate SEO checks and monitoring. Understanding of Core Web Vitals, and have the ability to build high-performance SEO-friendly React or Node code. Understanding of SEO-logic - pagination rules, faceted navigation, canonical resolution, and optimizing crawl budgets - and how to manage this at scale. Familiarity with headless CMS platforms (Contentful) is a plus, and structuring content models in a way that is scalable. Have used various hosting solutions (e.g. Azure, AWS) and have some familiarity with cloud services (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). Knowing Azure is a plus. Understand a few data stores (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis) and ORMs (e.g. Hibernate, ActiveRecord). Stay current with the evolving HTML5 specification. Strong enthusiasm for UI / UX and API design. Can articulate the difference between progressive enhancement and graceful degradation. Able to come into the office 5 days a week. Work well with others. Why Mavis?
