Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 I. Position Purpose Under the direct supervision of the Director of Facilities or designee, provides electrical work in the performance of preventative maintenance, maintenance, repair, testing, reconfiguration, construction, and/or restoration. Provide customer service to College departments, staff, students, representatives, partners and to the public. Must adhere to Ohio, OSHA and institutional safety standards and plan, prioritize, and complete work in the safest and efficient way while working in accordance with all city, state, and federal electrical codes. II. Duties and Responsibilities • Electrical work in the performance of construction, maintenance, repair, testing reconfiguration, and restoration in relation to electricity; including but not limited to various pieces of electrical equipment, fire alarm systems, circuits, panels, switches, fans, motors, and fixtures • Provides work in the performance of preventative maintenance, maintenance, repair, reconfiguration, construction, installation and/or restoration in relation to life safety fire alarm systems • Performs skilled labor in the performance of preventative maintenance, maintenance, repair, reconfiguration, construction, and/or restoration in relation to telecommunications, phone, internet, cabling, and distribution lines • Performs skilled labor in the performance of preventative maintenance, maintenance, repair, reconfiguration, construction, and/or restoration in relation to conduit and security lines and devices and equipment • Performs skilled labor in the performance of preventative maintenance, maintenance, repair, reconfiguration, construction, and/or restoration in relation to overhead and underground utility services • Troubleshoots electrical systems, circuits, appliances, tools, machinery and motor controls with or without electrical prints and/or schematics • Test and repair various electrical circuits and components, motors and controls using standard test equipment and observing and testing system operations • Interpret sealed plans, blueprints, schematics, drawings, and building codes • Plan, prioritize, and complete work in most safe and efficient way while working in accordance with all city, state, and federal codes • Perform general clean-up and organization of work area • Present continuing recommendations for institutional process improvements • Create and complete materials list, estimates, bid proposals, work orders, and purchase orders for needed tools, equipment, assets and stock inventories • Follow institution and state purchasing processes and procedures • Provide customer service to College departments, staff, students, representatives, and to the public • Works indoor and outdoor in inclement weather day to day, at special events and at multiple campus locations • Engage in professional development activities to gain additional industry certification and licensure as required • Use technology in the performance daily communication, record keeping, proposals, schedules and asset and inventory tracking • Work with student employees in the successful daily operations of the institution • Safely operate college vehicles, diagnostic equipment, machinery and hand and power tools • Assist with special event arrangements and preparations • Follow all Hocking College policies and procedures in relation to all duties performed • Perform and complete other work as assigned III. Qualifications - Education, Experience, and Skills • Current Ohio fire alarm certificate • Current Ohio fire suppression certificate, or ability to gain one within 12 months • Current Ohio backflow certificate, or ability to gain one within 18 months • Experience in the construction and reconfiguration permitting, testing and inspection process • One-year experience working as a commercial or industrial electrician • Associate degree or completion of apprenticeship preferred. High school diploma or GED required • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret architectural and engineer drawings • Demonstrated ability to research and interpret state and national electric codes • Knowledge of OSHA safety rules and regulations • Experience in estimating and the allocation of work related resources Physical Requirements: • Lift 50 pounds without assistance Reasonable accommodations may be requested and reviewed according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
