Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for planning and logistics? Join our team as a Millwork Planner , where you'll play a key role in the strategic planning and staging of materials for Millwork Fabrication projects. In this position, you'll collaborate closely with Fixture Estimators to determine packaging and part needs, ensuring all direct materials are procured accurately, on time, and within budget. You'll also partner with Project Managers to communicate production status and adjust material plans as needed to keep projects running smoothly from start to finish. Shift Available: Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm A variety of these traits will help land you this job. If you have: a High school degree or GED equivalent. a Degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is a plus. 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment, a background in wood and related materials preferred. On top of that you must have: a solid understanding of retail fixtures and their unique packaging needs. knowledge of packaging standards and best practices. strong communication skills with a servant leadership mentality, fostering collaboration with individuals and teams. a self-starter mindset with the ability to work efficiently and effectively. proficiency in packaging design software and familiarity with various packaging materials, methods, and off-the-shelf options. knowledge of shipping and logistics requirements specific to retail fixtures. the ability to evaluate and improve packaging solutions for quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency. In this position you'll: collaborate with the Fixture Estimator to gather information from the job estimate and determine the materials needed to plan and stage work for successful job completion. review the ticket and distribution list to identify any required pre-kitted materials and final packaging needs. develop a detailed production plan based on the estimate and engineered drawings, accurately identifying material requirements-type, quantity, quality, timing, and cost-to minimize purchase price and material usage variances. build and maintain strong relationships with wood material and other key suppliers. submit requisitions for sourcing all necessary materials, including those for final assembled products. communicate effectively with production leads to develop strategic plans for each job's parts and workflow. identify job ticket issues and resolve them or notify the Project Manager for correction. analyze large-scope jobs to identify opportunities for ganging and nesting parts to maximize efficiency. participate in Pre-Production meetings to provide insights and recommendations that support smooth ticket entry and production flow. evaluate material options to determine the most cost-effective solutions in terms of sizing, yield, and press time. Review and maintain the production plan on a per-job basis. update job plans and tickets promptly to reflect all change orders. perform other duties as assigned by management.
