Position Summary The Vice President of AI Integration at Surgenex will be responsible for leading and executing the enterprise-wide integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to drive innovation, operational efficiency, and long-term competitive advantage. This role combines strategic leadership with practical oversight to embed AI into core workflows, encompassing programs, operations, regulatory functions, and business processes. The VP of AI Integration works across teams to identify high-value opportunities, guide implementation, and deliver measurable outcomes that advance Surgenex’s mission. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and execute a company-wide AI integration strategy and governance model aligned with Surgenex’s key objectives. Foster a culture of innovation and promote a deeper understanding and adoption of AI across all areas of the organization. Serve as a senior thought leader and champion for ethical, responsible, and scalable AI use. Cross-Functional Integration Collaborate with leaders and doers across all areas of the business to uncover meaningful applications for AI. Oversee project lifecycles from opportunity assessment to implementation and refinement. Ensure AI solutions are practical, secure, and tailored to existing workflows and regulatory needs. AI Infrastructure & Tools Guide the selection and deployment of AI technologies that support decision-making, automation, and process optimization. Ensure platforms and solutions are secure, compliant, and adaptable to the evolving needs of the organization. Encourage reusable frameworks that can be applied across multiple teams, departments, or workflows to facilitate value-centric outcomes. Governance & Ethics Establish company-wide standards for the use of AI, focusing on transparency, fairness, and compliance. Maintain alignment with FDA, HIPAA, and other regulatory bodies. Identify and address risks, such as data bias, errors in automation, or inadequate oversight. Team Development Build and lead a capable internal team to support the integration and management of AI systems and solutions. Equip staff with tools and training to work confidently alongside AI technologies. Cultivate cross-functional collaboration and a shared understanding of AI’s role in Surgenex’s future. Performance & ROI Define success metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of AI implementations. Measure improvements in productivity, decision-making, compliance, and resource utilization. Report regularly to executive leadership on progress, challenges, and strategic insights. Qualifications 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, including at least 5 years leading AI/ML or data-driven initiatives. Proven success in deploying AI across complex, regulated enterprise environments—preferably within biotechnology, life sciences, or healthcare. Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies, data pipelines, cloud computing, and scientific computing environments. Strong business and scientific acumen, with the ability to translate technical innovation into strategic advantage and improved patient care. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related field; Master’s preferred. Pay range - $200,000 to $220,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
